About 2

Parents. Dreamers. Doers.

History

We're parents ourselves. Between the three of us we have four kids ranging in age from 4 months to 3 years. Union Square Play came about as we were searching for a place in the neighborhood where we could take our kids to play, to be stimulated, to learn, to be around other children, and to be free to be themselves. We also wanted to offer classes that were engaging instead of just entertaining. We couldn't find anywhere else where parents actually wanted to go to meet other parents, hang out and interact. We wanted to create a place that was safe, bright, fun, and that built a community that every parent needs.

We're passionate about hospitality, the guest experience, and making memories.  We've built Union Square Play to be supportive and easy for you. We know schedules are unpredictable, naps have a tendency to shift around when you least expect them to, and rain falls just on the day you thought you'd head to the park. That's why you can book classes ahead of time or you can just drop in on a whim. We also know how important it is to connect with other families both for you and your child. With classes, events, workshops and a place to grab a coffee upstairs, we hope this becomes your home away from home where you can connect with other parents and their children.

We can't wait to welcome you and your children into our home at Union Square Play and to truly become your village.

With love,

Jennie, Sandra, and Anthony

Sandra Di Capua

Sandra has had a passion for food and hospitality from as long as she can remember. She got her professional start in the restaurant industry working in the dining room at Eleven Madison Park. After 5 years there, she felt ready to set off on her own. She met Anthony and together, they started Co.create NYC. Their first project was Kellogg’s NYC, an experiential cereal café that is rooted in hospitality. They moved that cafe from Times Square to Union Square where it currently lives. And on the heels of that and in response to a need they saw in the Union Square community, they opened Union Square Play. A native of Bogota, Colombia, Sandra grew up in Miami and now lives in New York with her husband, Alex, and their baby girl, Liana.
